- If ash and pellets accumulate in your stove, the buildup can become dangerous over time and can even cause a fire, so it must be cleaned.
- Some proper cleaning and maintenance will save you time and money in the long run.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PELLET STOVE
- Cleaning chimney vent pipes, remove any caps or screens covering the vent hole and swirl the pipe brush from the opening of the vent down in and back up. When you feel it is clean enough, reinstall all the caps covering the vent holes.

- Remove the deposits in the exchanger tube, push and pull on the lever several times to make sure the buildup falls off. If the deposits won’t remove, use a wire brush to remove it.
- Remove the ash tray and empty the contents into the trash.
- Vacuum the firebox again to remove any remaining ash.
- Doing Basic Repairs. Lubricate motors and fans, check gasket seals. Remove any fly ash in the stove pipe with the stove pipe.
